Bid now to help build hospital
BUSINESSES across the North East have been urged to bid for a share of £72million of hospital construction work.
Work is under way to build a new Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington, with Lend Lease appointed as the main contractor.
Now, in partnership with Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which is behind the project, the business is inviting local companies to tender for sub-contracts.
Some packages have already been handed out to Balfour Beatty Engineering Services, Owen Pugh, Middleton Forge and Protector, but further work is up for grabs, including structural work, plumbing, electrics, roofing, fencing, landscaping, interior fit-outs, decoration, flooring and signage.
A drop-in Meet The Buyer event will take place at the trust’s headquarters in Cobalt Business Park, North Tyneside, tomorrow, from noon to 5pm.
