County reaches national list
APPRENTICESHIP opportunities at Northumberland County Council have been recognised in national honours.
The authority has made it onto the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list, which recognises excellence in the field.
The list is compiled by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with City and Guilds.
More than 160 apprentices are employed at the council across various locations and services, including business administration, horticulture, vehicle maintenance and accountancy.
The authority has also extended its work with partner organisations and employers to provide information and advice about recruiting apprentices.
Director of Children’s Services Paul Moffat said: “The county council covers such a broad range of services and the variety of roles available filters down to the apprenticeships on offer.
“It is good to see the council recognised for its continued support and investment in its talented young people. We should all be very proud of this achievement.”
