New host for info events

THE popular Morpeth Informal Friday event for enterprises has a new host.

The free business networking session was initially set up by Newcastle Science City (NSC) and it has built up a loyal following of Northumberland entrepreneurs and managers.

Now they are being run by Arch, established by Northumberland County Council as an arms-length development company to drive economic development and regeneration projects across the county.

Its Managing Director, Peter McIntyre, said: “NSC has done a fantastic job creating and building up the event and we are excited to be taking over as future hosts.

“Local businesses have told us they really value the chance to meet with like-minded people in a relaxed environment and make positive new connections as well as discuss new ideas and opportunities.”

Arch’s first session as host is tomorrow from 8am to 10am. The venue is still Central Bean Coffee Shop in Sanderson Arcade.

Three guests that businesses might not typically get access to but would like to meet will be in attendance – David Dunn (Chief Executive of Sunderland Software City), Lee Jackson (Head of Procurement at Northumberland County Council) and Jamie Ollivere (Growth Manager at the Regional Technology Centre North).

Arch staff with expertise in economic development, commercial property and regeneration will also be available.
