Uniform boost for charity
MORPETH workers have put their old uniforms to good use in a donation to the British Heart Foundation.
Staff from the Leeds Building Society branch in Bridge Street joined around 400 others from the business in donating their unwanted clothing to the charity when new uniforms were introduced.
The items will be sold in BHF shops to raise vital funds for its work.
Leeds Building Society Morpeth Branch Manager Denise Godwin said: “We are delighted with our new corporate uniform.
“Our previous uniform served us well and the fabrics remain of very high quality. We therefore approached the British Heart Foundation to donate the garments from our old uniform range.
“We are very pleased that BHF agreed to accept these and hope they will help raise funds for the charity.”
BHF Area Manager Mavis Dillon said: “We’re so pleased that Leeds Building Society chose to donate its uniforms to the BHF.
“Many of the items are of a saleable quality and we hope that this activity will also encourage the staff to continue to donate their unwanted items to the nation’s heart charity.”
