A STANNINGTON woman has been recognised for her success since she was appointed to run a luxury London hotel.

Debrah Dhugga was recently nominated to join the Women 1st Top 100 club – a list of the most influential female managers and executives in the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industry.

This prestigious list was designed to showcase the impact of women within these industries and create clear and visible role models for aspiring female leaders in the sector.

General Manager of DUKES St James London, Mrs Dhugga has been nominated for her strong leadership skills, strength of character and the growing success she has bought to the hotel.

“I was delighted to be recognised within the industry alongside leaders such as Carolyn McCall, CEO of Easyjet,” she said.

“I hope this will encourage other young females coming into the industry and show them that it is not only a man’s world – they should live their dream and strive to get to the top.”

Before her current position, she has been in charge of running high profiles businesses in the North East and northern England, including Seaham Hall, Malmaison Hotels, Serenity Spas and The Fisherman’s Lodge.
