A Northumberland brewery has achieved another national accolade.

Anarchy Brew Co’s Sublime Chaos was voted by the World Beers Awards, organised by Paragraph Publishing Ltd, as the best stout in the UK.

And for Dawn and Simon Miles, who run the brewery at Whitehouse Farm Centre, Stannington, it was another award to celebrate as Sublime Chaos took the gold in the strong beers category at the Society of Independent Brewers Beer X competition last year.

The eight-strong team supply pubs across the UK and they are also making their mark abroad as Anarchy products are now being exported to 10 different countries.

Mrs Miles said: “The entry was put in a few months ago and we forgot all about it until Simon was asked to be a judge for one of the best world beers categories at the event in London.

“When he was down there, he found out that he had been invited because we had won the UK stout category. We’re not big fans of entering competitions, but it’s great for the team at Anarchy to get this recognition.

“When we started the brewery in January 2012, we never dreamed that we wo-uld be so successful at this point. For us, it’s all about qu-ality rather than quantity.”
