CATCHY names for a set of oil tankers could reap rewards for a Northumberland resident and county schools.
F. Peart and Co, which distributes heating oils and fuels across the North East, is appealing to people of all ages from the region to name its new fleet of transport vehicles.
The individual winner will receive an Xbox Kinect 360 console and in the schools competition there will be a laptop for the winning child’s school. Six runners-up will also receive a £50 book token each.
Business Manager Laura Jackson said: “Following in the footsteps of Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends, we are looking to name our new fleet of oil tankers and we are appealing to the local public and local school children to help us do this.
“The public has the opportunity to name one tanker and local schools will have the opportunity to name the remaining seven.
“The eight winning names will then be printed onto the tankers permanently and these will be seen driving across the North East as we deliver oil to our customers.”
