A COMPANY will be coming to Morpeth to open its second delicatessen and coffee shop.
It was through the social networking site Twitter that The Corbridge Larder’s owner Dave Robinson was first encouraged to come to the town.
The business has more than 3,000 followers on the site and one customer Tweeted that the company should open up in Morpeth.
Mr Robinson said: “From that first Twitter message we received we decided to look at Morpeth as a location for our second store.
“It’s a beautiful town and a great place for our new deli and coffee shop.
“We are passionate about good food and our ethos is that we serve what we sell and we sell what we serve, even down to the salt and pepper on the tables, so when our customers enjoy something in our coffee shop they can buy that same product to enjoy at home.”
The award-winning company is fitting out its 2,000 sq ft unit adjoining Morpeth Bus Station, which is part of Sanderson Arcade, and it is scheduled to open in late May.
The Corbridge Larder specialises in sourcing northern products, as well as offering a selection of international gourmet speciality foods.
The store will create 12 jobs and is currently recruiting for supervisors and sales assistants.
