An high-flying Northumberland businesswoman is celebrating more success after leading her latest charge to a prestigious national title.
Debrah Dhugga, of Stannington, has steered the five-star Dukes St James London hotel to the coveted England’s Leading Hotel title in the World Travel Awards.
The award represents the ultimate hallmark of quality in the industry, celebrating the highest standards of excellence.
Mrs Dhugga, who is Managing Director of the hotel, said: “It is an honour to be awarded such a prestigious award.
“Myself and the Dukes St James London team recognise this is a huge achievement for the hotel and feel this is an acknowledgement the hotel is highly deserving of.”
Mrs Dhugga, who has previously held senior management positions at Seaham Hall, Malmaison Hotels, Serenity Spas and GHD, is well acquainted with success having being selected to join the Women First Top 100 Club — a group of the most influential female executives in the hospitality industry.
The businesswoman is renowned for strategic management and business development.
Her next challenge will see her take the helm of the Dukes Dubai hotel, in addition to her current role.
She said: “We are excited to take Dukes’ award-winning experience to Dukes Dubai, located on the Palm Jumeirah, which is scheduled to open within the first quarter of 2016.”
