AN energy bills support scheme has revealed this year’s allocation for elderly residents across the county.
Age UK Northumberland gas customers are set to receive additional Cold Weather Payments of £36,397 from the national total of £5.6million, which equates to £20 per household on average.
The guaranteed funding, provided by E.ON, was designed to offer some financial relief and peace of mind to pensioners who need some help with their bills and is in addition to the Government’s Cold Weather Payment.
Age UK Enterprises Managing Director Gordon Morris said: “We know that the cost of keeping warm in winter can be a concern to people in later life.
“That’s why, with the support of E.ON, we give all our gas customers an additional Cold Weather Payment on top of the Government’s payment to offer them a little extra support when they need it most.”
The scheme is part of the tailored package developed for Age UK Enterprises by E.ON, which also includes information and advice on how to reduce energy usage and clear bills, as well as dedicated customer service support.
