Firms show what they’re made of

MANUFACTURERS in Northumberland can show what they’re made of by entering a major competition.

Businesses of all sizes in the sector are invited to share details about their attributes and success stories for the EEF Manufacturing Future Awards.

In partnership with headline sponsor Infor, the regional and national awards recognise outstanding business performance in innovation, enterprise and environmental responsibility.

They also celebrate the achievements of apprentices.

EEF Chief Executive Terry Scuoler said: “Now in its third year, the EEF Awards prove that even in the toughest economic conditions UK manufacturers are breaking down barriers, re-inventing the rules and reaching out for new opportunities.

“This year’s awards will underline the dynamic manufacturing industry we can all be proud of.”

The judges are seeking stories of inspiration, passion, ingenuity, and sheer hard work.

The Awards are free to enter – the deadline for nominations is July 31.

In the first stage it is being divided into six regions and these winners will be announced in November. A prestigious national ceremony will then take place in London in January 2012.
