A LUXURY Northumberland hotel has gone to the top of the wedding list after taking a prestigious award for customer service.

Longhirst Hall Hotel won the coveted trophy for Most Outstanding Customer Service in the Best Venue category of this year’s North of England Wedding Awards.

It is the second year running that the Georgian house hotel has taken top honours in the gongs, having been named joint winner with Best Western Beamish Hall in 2012.

The awards, which are organised in association with The Wedding Guide UK, aim to recognise businesses in the North East and Yorkshire that go the extra mile for customers, provide outstanding service and inspire people to recommend them.

The winners were announced at a ceremony at the National Railway Museum in York earlier this month.

Longhirst Hall General Manager Tom Keaveny said: “I am extremely proud of all the team at Longhirst for achieving such a prestigious award, which is testament to the outstanding levels of hospitality we aim to deliver.

“Weddings are a fundamental part of our business and we are constantly exploring new avenues as we continue to search for excellence.”

A panel of judges carried out in-depth analysis of reviews from brides and grooms to determine the winners, taking into consideration service, value for money, quality and commitment.

One of the reviews considered was from Kim Halvin and Anthony Gallagher. They said: “All of our guests swore that ours was the best wedding they’d ever been to.

“Beautiful setting, amazing value, great food, stunning rooms for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception, great advice, spot-on organisation and enough room for everyone to stay.”
