INDEPENDENT traders have been urged to put forward ideas to help improve Morpeth business.
The Newgate Street Traders group was formed following concern about the decline of the street after the opening of Sanderson Arcade and the loss of parking spaces in Manchester Street and Back Riggs.
The organisation aims to develop marketing and promotional ideas to try to draw customers back and has already undertaken several initiatives, including commissioning a map of the street, running competitions and holding Market Place trading events.
Now all independent traders in the town are invited to join in and attend the group’s monthly meetings.
They take place in the Sour Grapes on the first Thursday of each month at 5.30pm. All welcome.
