A KIRKHARLE Courtyard-based big knitter has come up with a new creation for children that can literally get bigger as they grow.
The Sleepover Sac kit from Ingrid Wagner features her signature recycled Big Knit Yarn – the 100 per cent wool selvedge of industrial weaving waste.
And if the proud owner becomes a few centimetres taller, you can simply get another ball of yarn and knit a bit more.
Ingrid said: “The Sac uses a simple knit stitch and you just knit round and round – it’s like making a big sock. There are no seams and it’s great fun.”
“The children who tried it out for me liked the fact that it was warm and comfortable and they could move around inside quite easily.”
It is knitted on large circular needles featuring variously coloured wood handles that she designed, which has helped her to make a big impression in her field.
Ingrid’s outlet is among the range of specialist arts and crafts shops at Kirkharle Courtyard. It is open between 10am and 5pm each day.
