An autism support charity will receive some useful business backing in the coming months.

The Northumberland based not-for-profit business networking organisation NorthEastBiz has pledged its support for 2014 to The Toby Henderson Trust.

The announcement was made at its flagship monthly event, Willow Wednesday.

A spokesman for the group said: “We’re confident that, with the support of Barclays Business, we can raise over £2,000 for the charity.

“Some of our members are also donating their time and specialist skills to help the trust and we believe it is the first time a not-for-profit networking organisation has teamed up with a charity to raise money month-on-month while raising the profile of the charity.”

The Toby Henderson Trust is currently based in Stannington, although it is raising funds to move to new premises in Cramlington. It provides relevant, appropriate and accessible support for autistic young people while also empowering parents, families and carers.
