A Morpeth-based company’s ethos that not just any tablet will do has helped it develop a new product to benefit the public.

The EU’s food safety authority (EFSA) recently approved Pharma Nord UK’s new type of organic chromium called ChromoPrecise.

It embeds the nutrient in a yeast structure to give it some unique properties and the resulting supplement works to keep blood sugar at a stable level. This is more good news for the firm, which recently won the Business Award at the Morpeth Civic Awards.

Managing director Bent Henriksen said: “After submitting exhaustive amounts of documentation to the EFSA, we have been granted full approval for our ChromoPrecise, which is used in our newly launched Bio-Chromium.

“The documentation proved that our chromium yeast is up to ten times better absorbed than any other available form of chromium supplement and has more documented safety.”
