A MORPETH business was delighted to see a well-known North East celebrity wear one of its special pieces at a public occasion.

The Jewellers Guild was approached by Cheryl Cole’s dad, Garry Tweedy, to design and make a pendant necklace for her 30th birthday.

It was given to her in June and she was photographed with it on recently when she picked up the phone along with other famous faces to help raise money during broker ICAP’s financial trading day for charity.

Matt Peters, of The Jewellers Guild, said: “The inspiration initially came from the 30th anniversary of her birth; something contemporary and stylish and a piece that would be timeless.

“When the model was made and sent over for approval, it was decided that the piece would be more striking if it were a diamond set.

“The deadline was tight, but in the end we completed the piece with days to spare and it looked stunning. Garry came to collect the piece and was delighted.

“We were pleased to see her wearing it in public a few months after she received the necklace.”
