IF he brings you flowers, buys you chocolates and takes you for candlelit dinners then the man in your life could be in the running to be crowned Morpeth’s Most Romantic Man.
Rutherfords of Morpeth department store has launched the search to find Mr Right in time for Valentine’s Day.
Women are being invited to nominate their husbands and boyfriends for the title of Morpeth’s Most Romantic Man.
One lucky winner will receive a fabulous £250 makeover from the prestigious Bridge Street department store’s Brook Taverner menswear department.
Brook Taverner is Europe’s largest and most successful stock supplier of corporate image clothing.
The range includes shirts, jackets, trousers, waistcoats, coats and formalwear and can be found on the ground floor in Rutherfords.
As well as earning the title of Morpeth’s Most Romantic Man, the winner’s partner will receive a bouquet of flowers from Rutherfords in honour of Valentine’s Day and the couple will be treated to lunch for two in the store’s first-floor restaurant.
To stand a chance of winning, women are asked to outline in no more than 100 words why their other half deserves to be named Morpeth’s Most Romantic Man.
Rutherfords’ co-owner Jane Rutherford, who will head the judging panel, said: “We don’t think there are enough romantic men in Morpeth or in the North East generally – but we will be happy to be proved wrong.
“Perhaps there are romantic men out there but we just never hear about them, although we do get a few male customers coming into the store to buy lingerie and other gifts for Valentine’s Day.
“If they are shy, our friendly staff will be able to point them in the right direction of the perfect gift. Valentine’s Day is a special time for couples so it would be lovely to hear from ladies singing the praises of their boyfriends and husbands.
“If such a man exists then we think he certainly deserves a special treat for Valentine’s Day.”
Entries should be sent to the Morpeth Herald by Monday, February 4. The winner will be announced in the Morpeth Herald on Thursday, February 14.
