A CAMPAIGN to promote Morpeth’s businesses has gone online.
The new More in Morpeth website, set up by the Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade, aims to provide a comprehensive guide to the town, from shopping to eating out and places to stay, as well as tips on visitor attractions.
It has information about Morpeth’s history and heritage, as well as events. Local businesses can also take advantage of the listings service.
Chamber Chairman John Beynon said: “We are really pleased with the new website — the design looks great and it’s a wonderful shop window for the town. Visitors can see what Morpeth has to offer, but it is equally useful to residents, with event listings and local shops.
“Following some negative national publicity after the recent public sector cuts were announced, we wanted to fight back and show that Morpeth is a vibrant market town and by encouraging more people to visit and spend money in our town we can boost our economy.
“The word will quickly spread that we have more to offer.”
