A MORPETH business made a fund-raising splash for a children’s charity.
The town centre branch of Jewson, which sells timber, building and DIY materials, did a charity car wash and even Manager Phil Allan rolled up his sleeves.
The £36 raised will go to Barnardo’s, the company’s chosen good cause.
The Oldgate store also held a coffee morning earlier in the year, which brought in more than £100.
Mr Allan said: “With summer upon us, we decided that doing a car wash was the most efficient way of raising money for an excellent charity and thankfully the weather was perfect on the day.
“We all chipped in and I quite enjoyed it as it was totally different from what I do in my day-to-day job.
“It also meant there was some friendly banter between us and my staff were all taking photos when it was my turn to wash a car.”
