A HARD-WORKING Morpeth manager has been short-listed for a top industry award.

Medi Parry, who is Centre Manager of Sanderson Arcade, is a finalist in the national Sceptre Awards, which aim to recognise excellence and good practice in the business.

The 29-year-old, who was appointed to her role 18 months ago, is in the running for the Centre Manager (small centre) category for introducing new initiatives and events, such as the arcade’s annual awards, as well as for overseeing a growth in footfall and key tenant changes, which have seen the arcade being fully let for the first time since it opened in November 2009.

Ms Parry was nominated by her employer Dransfield Properties, which owns and manages the Morpeth centre.

Managing Director Mark Dransfield said: “We are really pleased to hear that Medi is one of the finalists in her category in the Sceptre Awards.

“I know there are a lot of people in the industry working extremely hard and coming up with innovative and fresh ideas and Medi is definitely one of them.

“Everyone at the arcade and at Dransfield Properties will have their fingers crossed for her. We certainly think she deserves to win and hope the judges agree.”

The winner will be announced at a ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel in London next month.

Ms Parry said: “The organisers say the standard has been really high this year for the Sceptre Awards so I’m obviously very pleased and flattered to be short-listed and am looking forward to the event.”

In 2011 the arcade was highly commended in the Development Team of the Year category.
