A THRIVING Blagdon-based public relations agency has welcomed a former Herald newsman to its team.

MDA, which is based at the Milkhope Centre, has appointed Paul Robertson as a Director.

Mr Robertson, who began his career as a reporter for the Morpeth Herald, stepped down from the post of Editorial Director of Trinity Mirror North East and Editor of the Evening Chronicle in the summer.

The 45-year-old said: “As an editor I have dealt with MDA for a very long time and know it to be highly professional across all its communications disciplines and tremendous to work with.

“It is the flagship communications agency in the region, totally committed to working for the benefit of the North East, and has played a significant part in working with companies and public sector organisations to win jobs, contracts and inward investment.”

MDA Managing Director Mary Dryden, who set up the company in 1993, said: “We are proud that Paul has joined us.

“He is one of the most respected media professionals in the North East and will be part of a great team that also includes Directors Andrew Lambert, former Editor of BBC Look North, and Alex Latimer, who joined us from the international advertising agency WPP.”
