GYM members have played their part in cancer awareness after getting on their bikes for charity.

Members of Morpeth’s Energie Ladies Fitness Club took part in a sponsored cycle at Sanderson Arcade last week, completing 150 miles on a static bike.

The event was in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and as well as raising more than £100 for the charity, the team passed on information about the disease and how to check for symptoms.

Club Manager Holly McEwan said: “The girls had a fantastic time.”

The club is also taking part in a Bin Your Bra campaign, where women are urged to donate a bra. The clothing’s weight will be converted into cash for Breakthrough and the bras will be sent to women in Africa.

Donations can still be made at www.justgiving.com/BinYourBra and collection buckets are in the club.
