A BLYTH-BASED company which has created more than 25 jobs in its infancy has been announced as a sponsor of the fifth Northumberland Business Awards.

Quantum Elite Limited, winners of the 2011 Technology award for its LAWCalc software, has shown its support by sponsoring the 2012 Technology award category.

A relatively small but continually expanding company, Quantum Elite has a big presence in Blyth alongside its sister company, 24 Seven Claims, which is the main sponsor for Blyth Spartans FC.

Providing legal cost services and claims management at a local and national level, the company is proud of its Blyth roots.

Company managing director Lissa Delf said: “Quantum Elite is very proud to be sponsoring the Northumberland Business Awards.

“The awards are a wonderful way of recognising the companies in Northumberland who help maintain and grow the local economy.

“As a company we hold high the need to ensure that the local community is continually regenerated by local investment and those companies who seek to do so should be very proud of their achievements.

“We were so honoured last year when our custom software LAWCalc achieved its greatest accolade to date with the Technology award, and this year we are proud to sponsor the category.

“We hope this year’s winner will be as thrilled as we were to feel our achievements had been recognised.”

Organised by Northeast Press, publisher of the Morpeth Herald and sister titles the Northumberland Gazette and News Post Leader, and Tweeddale Press’s Berwick Advertiser, the event will see businesses from across the region battle it out for prizes in 12 categories, including best business start-up, using local suppliers, training, entrepreneurship, business in the community, technology, environmental awareness, export, and apprenticeships.

This year will also see a new prize, the Tourism in Northumberland award, which will be presented along with the others during a black-tie dinner at Linden Hall Hotel in Longhorsley, near Morpeth, on Thursday, November 15.
