A PONTELAND legal eagle’s patience has been rewarded.
One of Sainsbury’s Ponteland’s team leaders, Ryan Hetherington, is leaving to pursue a high-flying career with a law firm in London.
He gained a law degree from Durham University in 2009 and during his student days he could be seen earning money at the now defunct Somerfield store in the area.
After graduating, Mr Hetherington took a gap year and travelled to various locations including countries in South America and Vietnam.
On his return to the UK, he obtained a position as team leader at Sainsbury’s while waiting for an opportunity in law to arise.
Store Manager Jason Harmer said: “Ryan threw himself completely into the role of team leader and was a great asset to the store.
“He will be greatly missed by all his colleagues.”
Mr Hetherington was presented with a briefcase and pen set on his last day.
