A SEARCH to find new stars of the property and construction sectors is now on following the launch of the 2013 RICS North East Renaissance Awards.
Considered the region’s property Oscars, the annual event celebrates the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and the environment.
Chairman of the judging panel, David Furniss, said: “We received a record 97 entries for last year’s awards and we had a great turnout at the launch event, so hopefully we may set a new record this year.
“Entry forms are now available and they are not just for those in the industry, anyone can make a nomination.
“It’s always good to see projects of all sizes, types and budgets entered, as schemes are judged on specific criteria, which include design, delivery, value for money and sustainability.”
The eight categories to enter are: Regeneration, Community Benefit, Building Conservation, Design and Innovation, Commercial, Residential, Infrastructure and Tourism and Leisure.
The Project of the Year is the entry judged to have scored the highest across all categories and the winners in the first four categories go on to compete in the national RICS Awards.
The deadline for entries is January 18. For more information, contact RICS Awards Co-ordinator Claire Simmons on 0191 2211039.
