THE company behind a £1million new cafe and bistro in Morpeth is confident it will be well received in the town.
Fluid Group will open Barluga Deli in Sanderson Arcade in late summer and this will create 35 new jobs.
Set out over two floors, the 4,000 sq ft unit will provide space for a total of 120 diners. Each floor will offer customers both deli counter and full table service.
Director David King said: “Sanderson Arcade is a stylish location with a considerable weekly footfall of discerning customers who appreciate high quality, freshly prepared food served in a comfortable environment.
“Although we still face challenging times and the overall investment of £1million is a significant one, I am confident that the launch of Barluga Deli is right for us as it shows our commitment to the region by creating new jobs and will be well received in Morpeth.”
A 20-year lease has been signed for the unit, which will be the final non-office development to open in the arcade.
This will be the second outlet operated by Fluid Group in the complex, adding to its Central Bean Coffee House.
Sanderson Arcade Centre Manager Debbie Anderson said: “We are delighted that Fluid Group has decided to bring another one of its outlets to Sanderson Arcade.
“I believe Barluga Deli’s offering not only sits very well with what is already available in the arcade, but broadens our offering as it will appeal to business diners and ladies who lunch as well as customers who want perhaps more than a coffee and a sandwich.”
