Solicitors have the Will to raise funds

Solicitors have shown their Will power to raise more than £7,000 for charity.

Morpeth-based Carr and Co, Brumell and Sample and Hardington Hogg have collectively raised £7,202 in the national Will Aid initiative.

The scheme sees solicitors waive their normal Will writing fees in November, with clients making a charity donation instead. The fund is distributed among nine charities — ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save The Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.

Nationally, it raised almost £1.75million last year.

Campaign Manager Shirley Marsland said: “I would like to thank all the solicitors and Will-makers in this area who took part and donated so much. I am constantly amazed by the support that solicitors give to the scheme.”
