A four-foot moose is on the loose in Morpeth to raise funds for charity.

The cuddly creature has been donated by Rutherfords of Morpeth department store to support Henry Dancer Days, which helps young people with bone cancer osteosarcoma to enjoy days out with their families. It also gives them iPads to stay in touch with friends.

The fund was set up in memory of 11-year-old Henry, whose mum Jane Nattrass is from Morpeth.

It is the chosen charity of Morpeth Mayor Joan Tebbutt, who is selling raffle tickets to name the moose, before entries are placed into a prize draw to win the giant toy.

Tickets are on sale in Morpeth Town Hall this week.
