THE announcement of Morpeth’s new supermarket operator is imminent, traders have been told.
At a meeting of Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade on Monday members were told the name of the operator for the Low Stanners store would be revealed “very soon”.
And the group’s Chairman John Beynon said meetings will take place with the operator to discuss how the food store will work in relation to the rest of the town.
“As soon as it is announced we need to be meeting with whoever is involved to see how the supermarket will be working and also to discuss its signage around the town and how it can work with the chamber,” he said.
Plans for the Dransfield Properties built food store off Dark Lane were approved by Northumberland County Council last month.
