YOUNG legal eagles are trying work experience with a difference in a Pre-Law Academy.

Seven students from Morpeth’s King Edward VI School will take part in the scheme with Newcastle firm Short, Richardson and Forth (SRF).

The Year 12 students – Emma Calvert, Beck Tait, Autumn Holst, Jeremy Turner, Matthew Brown, Samantha Willis and Becky Cowell – will work in pairs in three sessions at SRF, where they will interview a ‘client’ who is pleading not guilty and take part in a mock trial.

They will receive a certificate and appraisal, which can assist university or training contract applications.
