A TRIO of teenagers from Morpeth and Netherwitton were among those to sweep the board at the North East Young Enterprise (YE) Awards.
Katie Sharp, Katherine Ronn and Kate Myerscough form part of the highly successful All Shook Up YE business, made up of 12 Westfield School students.
They design and produce cocktail accessories, as well as make cocktail and mocktail recipes.
It has gone extremely well, but the girls were still pleasantly surprised to win the New Media Award, as well as the Marketing Award and Leadership Award. They were also runners-up in the Overall Best Company section.
Katie, who holds the position of Marketing Director, said: “We couldn’t believe it when we won four awards.
“We have worked extremely hard to get the business to where it is now, but we never dreamed that we would be recognised at such a high level. We are extremely proud.
“The awards that we won say a lot about our company. We have worked closely with our business advisor Emily Keep, who has her own training company, and have looked at the business from all angles.”
The 17 and 18-year-olds are now running All Shook Up as a fully functioning business and have developed a range of products, including cocktail shakers, individually designed glasses and a recipe book.
Headmistress of Westfield School Marion Farndale said: “The girls are making their mark with All Shook Up — their fortitude and desire for success has pushed them a long way.”
