Each month, one of the traders at the Wednesday market in Morpeth tell their story. Next up is Tony Cooper from Jet Keys.

Tony, who provides key cutting and watch-making services, has been a market trader for 15 years and he has been a regular face at the weekly Morpeth market for just over three years.

He prides himself on offering some of the best prices around and he strives to offer great quality.

Tony wants to encourage people to try him before anyone else, as demonstrated by the 100 per cent satisfaction guarantee offer when purchasing his products.

When asked about Morpeth market, he said: “I really like coming to Morpeth market on a Wednesday, it is definitely the favourite weekday market that I do.

“The people are always so friendly and like to have a chat whilst waiting for their products.

“I always try to refresh the stall every couple of months so that my regular customers have different options to choose from, especially the watch straps.”

Tony also said that out of all the markets he does, Morpeth has the most loyal customers – with other traders also noticing that once a customer has tried the products or services on the market once, they often return.

He also trades at markets in Stanley, Billingham and Swalwell.

The Wednesday Morpeth market is managed by Northumberland County Council and Sanderson Arcade, working in partnership with Morpeth Town Council, Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade and other local organisations through the Morpeth Market working group.

The Market Place is also the venue for the Farmers’ Market on the first Saturday of every month.
