Top award for Duncan after Hall restoration

The brains behind Northumberland’s only venue to offer outdoor weddings and beach ceremonies has won a top award.

Duncan Fisher oversaw a year-long multi-million pound restoration and refurbishment project at Newton Hall, and picked up the Entrepreneur of the Year Award on Thursday night for his efforts.

The Grade-II listed Georgian manor house in Newton-by-the-Sea reopened last year and has weddings booked into 2015.

The award, sponsored by NBSL, was presented to Duncan, who said: “I am very privileged to win an award, and privileged to work with the people I work with who are extraordinary.

“It is fantastic to be recognised in this way.”

Mark Jones from I won’t Tell, David Brodie and Michelle Brannigan from BB Tel Ltd and Mark Fenwick from Brinkburn Priory were also shortlisted.
