TOP tips on keeping Christmas trees spruced up throughout the festive season will be offered at a Morpeth garden centre.
Staff at Heighley Gate Nursery and Garden Centre to the north of the town will be providing help in choosing a real tree this weekend, as well as advice on how to care for it.
People can find out how to improve air circulation, stop the tree from overheating in the middle and avoid needle loss.
And anyone signing up to the centre’s free gardening club, which offers rewards throughout the year, can sample a glass of non-alcoholic, spiced berry punch and roasted chestnuts.
There will also be double points on Christmas trees, excluding fibre optic ones, for club members.
