THE team at a fashion store in Morpeth are celebrating the company’s four decades of style.

The activities to mark the 40th anniversary of the Country Casuals (CC) brand included a birthday event at the town branch in Sanderson Arcade with cake and bubbles, as well as a raffle in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

CC was established with just five stores in Scotland.

In 1988, it was acquired by the Austin Reed Group and has gone on to become an internationally-renowned brand with more than 190 stores in the UK and a delivery service to over 70 countries.

The glamorous actress Jane Seymour has been the face of the brand for 11 seasons and is synonymous with its range of tailoring and smart styles.

Dresses, knitwear, tops, jackets, trousers, coats and skirts are available, along with accessories such as jewellery, scarves, bags, hats and gloves.

The Morpeth branch was the first store to open in the Sanderson Arcade development after signing up for the former Nobles Amusements premises in Bridge Street. Then Castle Morpeth Mayor Irene Brumwell snipped the ribbon in February 2009.

Centre Manager Medi Parry said: “We’d like to wish CC a big happy birthday from all the team at the Arcade.”
