North East Livestock Sales’ annual show and sale of breeding and store sheep was kindly sponsored by Mole Valley Agriculture and expertly judged by P Hutchinson, Kettleburn. A total of 1,852 gimmers and ewes, 1,018 ewe and store lambs were forward.

A good show of gimmers was shown, and trade was better than expected, with many buyers leaving empty-handed. The sale of gimmers averaged over £141.

Champion pen of Texel gimmers was awarded to J K Mouat and Son, Newton Red House, realising £178 to B Henderson, South Carter Moor.
