Where there’s a will ...

A GENEROUS Morpeth solicitor has raised more than £3,500 for charity after giving his legal services for free.

Michael Gaunt, of Brumell & Sample in Bridge Street, collected £3,571.25 to be shared among nine charities as part of the annual Will Aid scheme.

The initiative sees solicitors waive their fees to help clients write their Wills in return for donations to the fund.

Will Aid month runs in November, but the amounts raised have only now been released and it has been a record year for the scheme, with £1.5million collected nationally.

Charities benefiting are ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save The Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.
