A MORPETH solicitor found that where there’s a Will there’s a way of raising more than £6,000 for good causes.
Michael Gaunt of Brummell and Sample raised £6,325 for the Will Aid scheme, which sees funds divided between nine different charities.
Instead of charging clients the usual fee for writing Wills, solicitors ask them to donate to the cause.
In the latest initiative, £2.1m was collected across the UK.
It will be shared by ActionAid, Age UK, the British Red Cross, Christian Aid, the NSPCC, Save The Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.
Will Aid Campaign Manager Shirley Marsland said: “We are very grateful to the solicitors who worked so hard for Will Aid and to the public who responded so enthusiastically to the opportunity.”
The scheme will run again in November. For information on how to register visit www.willaid.org.uk or call 01460 271178.
