A weekend of fund-raising added another £900 to help young cancer sufferers and their families.

Heighley Gate Nursery and Garden Centre hosted young musicians playing for customers and also volunteers bag-packing at the checkout, pictured top, with the money collected going to Henry Dancer Days.

In addition, the Morpeth branch of Barclays continued its in-branch raffle, above. This was initially organised by last year’s town Mayor, Coun Joan Tebbutt, whose fund-raising for the charity has now reached £15,000.

Henry Dancer Days provides practical and emotional support to those with an aggressive form of bone cancer.
