What can you find in an English country garden? If you’re a Morpeth Army cadet, it could be an award from the Queen.

Members of the Morpeth Detachment of Northumbria Army Cadet Force learned last month that they had been honoured with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

And last week, they were invited to a garden party at the Alnwick Garden to receive the award from the Duchess of Northumberland in her role as Lord Lieutenant.

The presentation formed part of what will become an annual garden party for volunteers and carers in the county.
