More than 150 beers, lagers and ciders will be on offer when two beer festivals take place this weekend.

Ponteland Beer Festival and Morpeth Beer Festival both take place on Friday and Saturday at the towns’ respective rugby clubs.

Ponteland will have more than 150 beers, lagers and ciders on offer as well as a Prosecco and wine bar.

At Morpeth there will be 3o beers, ciders, lagers and wine on offer.

Both start at 6pm tomorrow with live music at each event.

At Morpeth the The Cadillacs will play from 8.30pm while at Ponteland The Dunston Silver band will start followed by the Richard Kain Band with both events open until 11pm.

On Saturday, Morpeth Beer Festival will be open from 2.30pm to 11.30pm with live vocalists performing from 3.30pm until 7.30pm and Scratch on stage from 8.30pm.

At Ponteland Beer Festival an extra marquee has been added to provide more space for the event.

Music will come from Ponteland Community Wind Band North Star and the headline band for the Saturday evening is the very popular, Proper Boys.

Tickets, which are £10 in advance, can be purchased online from www.pontelandbeerfestival.co.uk where there are full details or at Reception at Ponteland Leisure Centre, or they will be £12.50 on the door subject to availability.

Admission includes a commemorative glass and three drinks tokens.

Morpeth is also £10 entry, which includes a commemorative glass and two beer tokens and a programme. Tickets can be bought online at http://www.morpethrfc.co.uk/beer

Both events coincide with rugby matches at their clubs.
