SCHOOLCHILDREN in Morpeth have run away with the circus.

Pupils at All Saints First School in Lancaster Park learnt a whole box of party tricks when Newcastle-based Let’s Circus came to town.

All of the children in the school were given the chance to try the circus skills as part of their Transition Day.

The day is designed to help youngsters adjust to changing classes in September and is usually just a meeting with their new teachers, but this year children were asked what they would like to do and they suggested the circus.

Teacher Laura Ritson said: “They wanted something exciting and different. It was definitely well-received and even the parents joined in.”
