A FREE information event will be held in Morpeth to advise residents on flooding and the planning system.
The session has been organised by the Environmental Law Foundation and follows a previous event in the town about flood prevention.
It will focus on how local communities can effectively engage with the planning system in the context of flooding concerns.
Northumberland County Council Executive Member for Infrastructure and Environment Isabel Hunter will give the keynote address, while council Head of Development Services Karen Ledger will discuss the role of the authority in planning and flood prevention.
Morpeth Flood Action Group Chairman Alan Bell will also speak and it is hoped that the Environment Agency will give a presentation.
The session will then move on to a workshop about how people can get involved in the planning process, led by Head of Property and Planning at Ward Hadaway Solicitors, Neil Robson.
The event will be held at Storey Park Community Centre in St Mary’s Field on Friday, September 2, from 2pm to 5.30pm.
It is free to attend, but people must reserve a place by contacting Tom Brenan on 020 7404 1031, or e-mail email@example.com
