Crafts workshop for children will be action-packed

A RANGE of fun hands-on crafts activities are being provided by a Morpeth shop later this month.

Treacle Wool Shop in Chantry Place is running a summer workshop week for kids. Eight sessions are available, starting from Monday, August 19.

There are eight places available per workshop and the price for each activity is £8.

The minimum age to be involved is six. Materials and refreshments will be provided.

Details of each workshop are as follows: Monday, August 19 – Make a Treasure Box: Bring new life to tins and boxes. Create your own piece of unique art to store your treasures using all sorts of craft materials (10am to noon); Make A Scrapbook: Design and bind your own scrapbook to record your holiday adventures (2pm to 4pm).

Tuesday, August 20 – Make Your Own Solar System: Learn about the planets and create your own Solar System mobile (10am to noon); Mask Making: Let your imagination run free and create a fabulous mask to wow your friends (2pm to 4pm).

Wednesday, August 21 – Create a Summer Flower Posy: Learn about flowers and colour and create your own summer bouquet in a jar (10am to noon); Sock Puppets: Transform one of your own odd socks into a new friend (2pm to 4pm).

Thursday, August 22 – Make a Bird Feeder from Junk: Make a brilliant feeder to hang outside and keep the birds happy (10am to noon); Print your Own Poster: Design a poster of what you have been doing in the holidays and print it using old fashioned printing blocks (2pm to 4pm).
