POLICE are appealing for information after a break-in to a National Trust office in Scots Gap.
At around 5pm on Saturday, May 14, thieves tried to gain access to the building. The alarm was activated and is believed to have scared the intruders off as nothing was taken.
Morpeth Neighbourhood Inspector Alison Best said: “The car park area near to the office is often used by dog walkers over the weekend and so I’d appeal for anyone who was in the area on Friday or Saturday and who may have seen any suspicious vehicles or people to contact police with information.
“I’d also appeal for anyone visiting the more rural areas of Northumberland to be vigilant to suspicious behaviour. If you see anything that looks out of place then it’s better to report it and we’ll check it out.”
Anyone with any information into the break-in is asked to contact Morpeth police on 03456 043043 – extension 69191.
