MORE than 230 people were caught watching television without a licence in the Morpeth area during 2012, it has been revealed.
Figures for evaders in Northumberland last year have been unveiled by TV Licensing. Data for other towns includes over 440 in Ashington, more than 110 in Bedlington and over 270 in Cramlington.
The national average evasion rate remains at just over five per cent. If people decide to watch TV without being properly licensed, they risk prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000. For more information, visit www.tvlicensing.co.uk
