KIDNAP charges have been dropped after an alleged incident at Morpeth’s high school.

Kayleigh Padden, 21, of Pagoda Lodge, Longhirst, and Thomas Wragg, 20, formerly of Rothbury, appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates Court in September.

The pair were charged with unlawfully taking Zak Pringle against his will from King Edward VI School, contrary to common law, on March 26.

The case was due to be heard at Newcastle Crown Court, but now both defendants have been told that the charges against them have been discontinued and no further action will be taken.
