Police appeal after phone mugging

POLICE are hunting three youths after a 16-year-old boy was mugged in a Northumberland village.

The victim was walking along Mile Road in Widdrington Station last week when he was approached from behind by three young men.

They grabbed hold of his arms and stole his mobile phone before running off.

The incident took place between 8.30pm and 9pm on Wednesday, July 6.

One of the offenders is described as black, about 18-years-old and around 6ft tall.

He had dreadlocks with red and white beads in the fringe, was wearing a dark blue hooded top, with the hood pulled up, and dark Reebok tracksuit bottoms, with white trainers.He spoke with a Jamaican-type accent.

Another of the group was white, about 17-years-old and around 5ft 8ins tall, with short dark hair. He had a gold chain with a gold boxing glove pendant around his neck.

He was wearing red Reebok tracksuit bottoms with a dark hooded top, with the hood pulled up, and black trainers.

The third offender was also wearing a dark hooded top.
