A MAN has appeared in court after he tried to steal a bottle of wine from a Morpeth store.

Jack Maley, who lives in the town, paid for a six-pack of lager at Bin 21 in Newgate Street on Friday, June 10, but was challenged by a member of staff for concealing the wine bottle in his jacket.
